The earrings I won over at Clarabelle! A big thank you to Beso and the sweet letter they sent me. :-)

This past Saturday (went thrift store shopping & came up empty!) the hubs and I went out with one of his co-workers & his wife. This is what I wore. We checked out the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema. It's a place where you can eat dinner while you watch the movie. It was a nice change from just going to see a movie. We saw Battle L.A. I actually begin to feel sick as we were watching the movie. I just thought it was the baby, but the hubs thinks it could've been motion sickness. The movie provided a lot of action scenes so he could be right. All I know is that I felt like throwing up mid way through the movie. Not a good feeling. : \ Aside from all of that we had a good time and my bbq pulled pork sandwich was good! Not as good as the ones in Memphis though. ;-) Battle: LA was a great movie. It reminded me a lot of Independence Day.

So here's the cheap breakdown of the outfit:

Shirt- I love this shirt!!! So free and flowy. From an earlier post: $2.99, 579
Skirt- from here F21, $11
Necklace- Bijoux Terner, $10
Sandals- These are like the only shoes I've been wearing! Ya'll have seen them SEVERAL times on here! lol I really need to buy some more sandals....They were $10 at Charlotte Russe

Another cheap outfit!- K.D.

Holiday Party No.2 Outfit

I know I said I'd be posting the outfits from both parties, but I don't have time right now. So I'm posting these...backwards right?! ;-)

Story behind the outfit: I used to hate this shirt. I don't even know why I bought it. I bought it from Wet Seal years ago and never wore it until now I think. I don't recall wearing it ever before. It stretches nicely over my preggie stomach and that's why I wore it! The skirt is from F21 (the same one from the post before this one) and you already know it was $11 and I got these Nine West peep toes from Burlington's for $20. That's it!

Another cheap outfit! :D Next holiday party outfit coming tommorrow!- K.D.

Heyyyyyy! (Outfit Post)

So I'm back from my "vacation", lol. There's a lot going on and since I've been preggie I haven't had as my outfit updates....I basically spent the majority of the 1st 3 months sick, nauseated, and in bed sick. : \ Not one of the best times of my life....But that's over & now I'm 4 & 1/2 months preggie. Yay! So you know what that means- OUTFITS! Here's one I took at RA Sushi place here in our new city, Houston. :-)

I was about 3 months preggie in these pics. Notice the blazer and belt??? They're my fave thrift store items...well so far. :D I got that skirt from Forever21 in Memphis. It was on sale for $11. All I can say is I'm soooooo glad it's stretchable or else I wouldn't be able to wear it, lol! It was the last item I bought before I found out I was preggie.

Have a great weekend! I wore this bangin' black dress to a holiday party a couple of weeks ago and tomorrow we're attending another one. So I'll be posting both outfits on Monday.

My Patriotic Outfit

Hey ya'll! How was everyone's 4th of July? Mine was just okay. I didn't do anything special at all. At times like these, I wish I still lived in Memphis. No city really compares to their barbecue! ;-) I didn't really get to wear my outfit like I wanted to for the 4th so I wore it again today, lol! I really, really like this shirt and I've been wanting to wear it. And we are experiencing a major heat wave so I'm trying to be as cool as possible!

In case you're wondering how I did my hair....

This park is really scary to me... : \ It's more like a creepy forest. Oh and I wore a reddish lip color. This is new for me as I'm always doing the nude lip.

I went to Borders today to finally use a gift card that I've had for almost 2 years. :0 It was very relaxing....#ilovebooks
I felt so girlie in this shirt! :-)

The infamous spy bag! :D No, not a real one. I normally don't wear knock-offs, but I became obsessed with this bag. This was a gift. :-)I'm going to do post on all of the compartments later. It has so many hidden parts!

Here are the books I bought. I'm the biggest J. California Cooper fan you will EVER KNOW! :D She is my favorite author. No one comes close to her. I hope to meet her one day. :-) This is her latest book and I'm soooo late getting it. I also got Sister, Sister by. Eric Jerome Dickey. I read this many years ago, but I want to re-read it. :-) I still have some money left on the gift card so I'll be back

So here's the breakdown on my cheap outfit. ;-) You guys already know about the accessories. I've blogged about them. They equal about $5-8 maybe.

Shirt: 579, $2.99! (Please everyone stop sleeping on 579.)

DIY Jean Shorts: I actually bought these from Ross last year in the fall for $8.99. I got home and tried them on and they were too small. I lost the receipt so I couldn't take them back..... :\ So I decided a few days ago to cut them up to see if they would fit and what do you know....they did! The skinny legs didn't fit me. The jean shorts are now perfect. :-)

Spy Bag: This was a gift from the hubs. :-) Does anyone have the real spy bag???

And the shoes are just my old gold flip-flops......How was your 4th? What did you get into? :-)

My Island Look

So these were taken on Friday. I bring to you the $6.90 dress I snagged at the thrift store! My hubby could not believe this was just $6.90. Ha! This is what I wore to the theater on Friday. One of our friends (she was the date for one our groomsmen) said I looked very "islandy". I felt like I should've been on a beach somewhere. Wishful thinking. :-)

I was getting compliments on this dress all day!

This is my favorite nail polish for the moment...

I love that feather necklace! Can you guess where I got all of my accessories from?

My regular raggedy Walmart flip flogs. : 0 I knew I would be walking a lot so I did not attempt to put on any heels. I saw a lady and the heels of her feet were RED. I felt so bad for her.... : \

That freakin purse was so heavy. I aim to clean it out this week.

By this time, I'd taken off my earrings. I was SO tired.

So here's the breakdown-

Earrings, bracelets, necklace- Forever 21, around $5-8 for each accessory

Purse
- BAGHAUS! Love that store.....I waited until this went on sale. Got it for about $30

Flip flops
- Walmart, $3

Dress
-Thrift store, $6.90! (I know I've already said it...)

And while I was in D.C. for the day, I found out one of the vintage shops I liked was closed. Like out of business closed. :-(
Well...when I shopped there I was usually the only one in there.....oh well.

Have a great Monday!

Starting April Off With Spring Colors

Yesterday, I went to the thrift store down the street from me...I try to control myself when I go in there, but it's so hard! I ended up buying a dress for $6.90 & it's so cute! It's another one that I want, but I'm going to wait a while on it (and just pray it's still there when I go back). And guess what? A teenager walked up to me in the thrift store and said "ooh you look so pretty today." Made my day. :-)

This outfit is actually a dress with a shirt over it. I'm blogging from Cosi's right now so I'll try to remember everything.....
Blue Button-Up Dress- bought from Dillard's 9 yrs ago...I can't remember how much it was very cheap because the store was an outlet.
Orange Shirt- Voice, can't remember how much it was & I forgot the name of the store. I would know it if I saw it again though.
(Fake)Pearls- Can't remember where I purchased these either...
Bracelets- from Forever 21 for about $6, and the bigger one is from a random beauty supply store for a $1
Belt- Same one from this post.
Shoes-purchased from Guccini Fashion & Shoes.

Email me if you want to know the names of anything. I don't have everything in front of me right now due to me not being at home....
Got a double date tonight with the hubs to go see Why Did I Get Married Too? Can't wait! :-)

Pajama Shirt Outfit

I was so frustrated while picking out clothes today. I couldn't find anything to wear. So I went into my usual "don't care" mode. I'm pleased with the results though.

Nine West Shoes I bought from Ross...

My wedding bracelet. :-) You may see this on here a lot.

This shirt is actually apart of a sleep set that I bought a long time. I hardly ever wear the pajamas now....

I don't what that is on the jeans. It wasn't there in real life. Maybe the flash?

So this was what I decided to wear....

Bracelet-Bijoux Terner bracelet for $10

Pants-To Be With You Jeans, Ross, $9

And there's my $50 outfit in a nutshell. :-)

Forever 21 Shopping Under $10

Okay I went to the mall today....and it was a set up from the get go. I parked right outside of the front entrance of Forever 21. Yep. I admit I shouldn't have done that. I love Forever 21. It is my absolute favorite clothing store. Every time I go I see so many pretty dresses, headbands, shoes, earrings, I mean the list goes on.

I know I'm in thrift mode, but that store........it's unexplainable. After being in there awhile, knee deep in flower headbands & cute spring dresses, I decided I should just leave immediately before I do something stupid like buy something. So....I headed toward the door and I stopped right before I got to the door. I couldn't believe my eyes. They had $2.50 tanks! $2.50!

That is definitely a steal. One tank top couldn't hurt right? So I picked up 2 in different colors and waltzed back over to the headbands & picked out a headband to get. I need a head accessory to go with at least one of the tanks right?

By this time, I'm feeling pretty good. Loving the "new clothes high"...After justifying my tanks & headband, I stand in the line. I'm thinking "man they're taking forever." So I started reflecting on how I'm supposed to be saving money & I'm in here buying clothes. Needless to say, I stepped out of the line, put everything back, and walked out of the store with my head down. Not because I was ashamed. I couldn't bear to look at anymore clothes for the fear I would go back & buy something. The hubs would be proud of me today. Today was an empowering day. So I'm happy. :-)

P.S. I will be back to buy those tanks when it get warmer (and I start working part-time). Just because I'm thrifting doesn't mean I will past up great deals like this.....a great deal is a great deal.

In the meantime, here's some other outfits that they have on super sales....all under $10...
