Dinner at Yard House

We went out to the Yard House restaurant last night. One of the hubs co-workers is moving away & we wanted to hang out with them before they left. I couldn't wait to get there & eat! lol Here's the outfit I wore.

 

The J.Crew dress has been featured here and here. It was free so you no money out of my pocket. I paired it with my thrifted Liz Claiborne belt. The vest is one of 3. I got 3 of them for $15 at Walmart in '06. I'm so glad my sis talked me into getting all of the colors, lol. I bought those sandals for around $10 in D.C. in '07. The F21 bangle is making another debut on the blog....it's been on here several times.

What to Wear for Maternity Shoot?

My maternity photo shoot is coming up and I don't know what to wear! Well, usually I tend to gravitate towards dresses. That's what I initially wanted to wear (and still do), but I'm think about showing off my stomach a little too...maybe. I don't know. I saw this in Forever 21 and thought it would be perfect for the shoot....This print just spoke to me!

It's retailing for $27.80. I went to F21 last weekend and tried on 2 dresses. This wasn't one of them. I remember seeing it, but I didn't want to try it on. I tried on the other dresses because they were cheaper and the fabric was stretchier (word?). Unfortunately, I couldn't find those dresses on the site. : \ I loved the dresses I tried on, but I wasn't quite sure I wanted to get them. PREGGIE BRAIN. lol!

So I've got a dilemna because I do not want to take photos in 2 different outfits. I wanna get something to wear and stick w/ that for the entire shoot. I'll either get a dress or something that will show my stomach off like a one of those cute preggie crop tops. What to do? I think I'm gonna check out Ross for some of their dress deals. It's also time to raid my closet to see if I have something that can be used as a pretty top that shows my bare stomach. Gotta make a decision quick. It's 2:00am. Off to bed I go. Summer Dress in January

I've been going back and forth on whether or not to discontinue ETSS. Truth is, I don't really have as many outfits to post as I did before. Also, I'm not working full-time so sometimes I'm at home all day wearing nothing that is post worthy, lol. And since I'm pregnant, I've been spending a boatload of time researching carseats, strollers, breastfeeding, etc. I haven't really been allotting myself any free to do some of the things I enjoy like blogging here. (Remember I still blog here and here too) So....I've decided to continue ETSS! As a matter of fact, I'm going to re-dedicate myself to it. I love to post my cheap outfits so I'm gonna continue to do just that. I will sprinkle in baby stuff with it of course. ;-) The main focus will still be on cheap, thrifty deals though. Ya'll are not getting rid of me that easily. :-)

So without further ado, here's some photos of me taken this weekend after the hubs and I came back from Frenchy's.

Everytime I wear this dress, I have to always pick up the bottom half! lol!

I love this dress! This is a 4 year old F21 dress I bought. I don't remember how much it was, but it's very comfortable! That's what I look for these days as the Munchkin grows inside of me. The weather was so pretty this past weekend that I had to wear it. We're supposed to be getting snow today and tommorrow, but hopefully we won't. *fingers crossed*

New Year's Night

Happy New Year!! So on New Year's night, the hubs and I went out to Uptown Tapas in Houston for the PlayDate event. We had a lot of fun and he beat me too many times to count in Connect 4, lol. I'm the official champion in Monopoly though!

I love this jean jacket! My sister bought it for me in college for Christmas years ago.

These holes have appeared because I wear it so much...I don't care though. It gives it an edgy feel.

I just washed this jacket a few weeks ago-judging from these pics maybe I need to wash it again... : \

This skirt is actually a dress! Can't believe I can even wear this at 5months preggie.

The Search For Preggie Clothes

I was browsing on the internet today looking for maternity clothes-actually maternity dresses. I really want to wear a lot of long dresses. I couldn't really find a lot of dresses that I actually liked. I did find a few though.....

The hubs helped me with this outfit. :-) I've worn this tiered dress so many times and this time I tried on a belt w/ it and fell in love. He said the belt made my waist look even smaller.

My Little Black F21 Dress

I don't know why I was looking like that...

So the hubs and I went to a birthday party at the W's rooftop restaurant called POV. It was really nice....for the time we were there. They evacuated the entire building because a transformer caught on fire either by the hotel or under it....

I remember taking pics on the rooftop & then seeing smoke. It was crazy. People were coming out in their bathrobes from the shower. All we kept thinking was, "what about the food we ordered??". LOL, that's how hungry we were! The group ended up going to another restaurant nearby and we had a lot of fun.

This outfit is totally sponsored by Forever- the earrings, the dress, AND the shoes. The bracelet was $10 and it was from Bijoux Terner. For the life of me I can't remember how much the dress was...I think it was around $20. I bought it in December...The earrings were about $6. The shoes were around $25-30. I purchased the shoes & earrings with a gift card so free for me. ;-) I can't remember if I got the dress with the gift card too.....Anyway, that's the outfit. I would've worn this with my F21 belt had it not been stolen/lost in baggage claim.

Carnival Outfit

So here's what I wore to the carnival. Initially, I was looking for something more colorful to wear...but I decided to let the accessories do the talking. ;-)







Here's the lowdown on my outfit:

Vest-I bought this in '06. It's funny because I have 2 other ones just like this one. I have a green, black, and light tan one. I remember being in Walmart with my sister and asking her which one did she think I should get. She was like, "Just get all of them. They're only $5!" lol....so I did!

Crop Top- I don't remember when or where I got this. I just know it's extremely old. A lot of times, I just sleep in it.

Jean Shorts-You'll remember these from here. $10 bucks

Gold Necklace- Bijoux Terner, $10 (Also featured here and here)

Other necklaces- Just wore them here, but I wore them the long way this time. I believe my sister paid $3 for them....

Bracelet-F21, $5-7.....I think I've worn this before on the blog...just can't find it right now.

I'm going to post photos of the D.C. Carib. Carnival tommorrow! I had so much fun! The people in the parade were pretty wild...lol! Wait until you guys see these photos....-K.D.

$3.50 F21 Skirts to Match New Top

These are all the right price. They're retailing for $3.50 at F21. :D I wish they had more in summer colors.....
F21's Basic Fitted Knit Skirt

Okay....so I'm thinking of one of these skirts to go with my new top. :-) I really want to go with a bright or light colored bottom like a skirt like these or some shorts. I'm not sure if I want to match the the top exactly with the bottom...maybe. There were some cute, relaxed gray ruffled shorts on F21's site, but I don't see them anymore. : \ Meanwhile, I'll keep looking for a bottom for this skirt...I may just wear something I already have. Shoot, that's less money anyway. ;-)

How To Rock A $1 Belt

Me playing around...(sidenote: I really need to paint my nails... : \)

So here I am.... :-) in one of my thrifted belts from Memphis. Isn't it cute? Even though it's been a rainy day I wanted to experiment a little with my clothes. I've worn this dress a few times before, but never like this. I decided to put one of my polo-ish shirts under the dress. Initially, I had my white shirt on under it. In the end I decided on the black one.

Dress- Macy's, $40...the hubs bought this for me last year.

Polo shirt- Snabbed this for $5 at a store that was going out of business....

Belt- Thrifted in Memphis for $1! :D (ya'll are going to get tired of me saying that, lol)

Necklace w/ feathers- F21, seen also in this post for $5-8

Other Necklace-Purchased long time ago...don't remember the price.

Earrings- I found these in my car...I have no idea where they came from! I asked around and no one claimed them...#ohwelltheyrehot:0

Shoes- CR T-strap sandals! I told ya'll I wear these almost everyday to work! lol

And that's one of my random beauty supply store bracelets again. I think I'll make a tab for them on the blog. I wear them a lot and they all cost $1! Hey don't sleep on the bss bracelets! Gotta go...Behind the Music: Eve just came on & I missed the beginning of it last night. Tonight is my me night filled with the new eppys for The Hills & The City! :-)
