My Go-To Summer Dress

Now you all may remember this dress from being one of my very 1st thrift store purchases a few months back. I snagged it for $6. Here's the post from when I 1st wore it. Ya'll, I wear this dress all the time now. It's a great dress if you don't feel like putting together an outfit & you just want to run out to the store or something. :-) I initially wore it with the straps tucked it....like this....

...but I find myself wearing it more and more like this....with the straps around my neck.

I forgot to tell ya'll about these shades I bought not too long ago from A.J. Wright for $4. I wear them all the time now....

And here I am....ready to go! There's the spy bag again for a pop of color. You can barely see my silver flip-flops. Got those from Target for $2.50.

This dress is just sooooo comfortable. I'm going to miss throwing this on when it gets too cold. What's your summer go-to look? :-) -K.D.

2010 Birthday Outfit :-)

So here's my birthday outfit! Yesterday, I turned 28 (i'm getting so old) and the hubs took me to Texas De Brazil. We hadn't gone in a year so this was a very nice treat. ;-) To prepare, we didn't eat hardly any food all day. It's basically all you can eat yummy Brazilian steak.


Before you ask, yes that's a rust spot over my toe, lol! #ohwell I wanted you guys to see the shoes. I put lotion on my feet, but that spot is my "problem area".

Check out my birthday finger nails! :-) I wear this necklace soooooooooo much.

Most of the items in this post you've already seen. The brown dress was a dress, but I mostly wear it as a skirt.

Blazer- My favorite blazer (thrift store)-$1

Dress- Purchased years ago for $10

Belt- Liz Claiborne-$2.90 (thrift store)

Bracelets- Same beauty supply store bracelet and my Leo bracelet. ;-) The bss bracelet goes with so many outfits!

Necklace-Which is actually 3 necklaces together. My sis bought this for me for $3.

Shoes- Free from my sis. ;-)

Spy Bag- Free from the hubs.

That's it! Now I'm preparing for the hubs birthday this weekend. Yes, our birthdays are 5 days from each other. 2 Leos, lol! Off to take a bubble bath.

$1 Thrifty Blazers Pt. 1

Behold...this has become my favorite blazer. I love it so much! I wear it with so many things. The best part about it was the price....I picked this up for $1 at a local thrift store. You like? :-)

New Canon/Flower Power Romper

So my dreams came true and my hubby bought me a camera for my birthday! :D It's a Canon and I LOVE IT. I'm still reading the manual and getting the hang of it so the photos might not be up to par yet...but they'll be getting there. This is the other romper I've had basically since before summer started. I bought it at 579 for $5!!! Yep! The only thing I don't like about it is that it accentuates my flat chest-ness. :o We celebrated my birthday this past Saturday because it's going to be on boring Tuesday. Boooooo. I will be going to Texas De Brazil for my actual birthday and I'm looking forward to it. Their food is SO GOOD and I get to eat for free because birthday meals are complimentary (with the purchase of a dinner).

Oh yeah and I have on my Nine West heels that were given to me as a gift. You've seen them in other posts.....


At Madame Tussauds Wax Museum in D.C....I think Tyra is definitely taller than that in real life.
One of my fave places to eat in D.C. is Ben's Chilli Bowl! :D Hands down-they have THE BEST chilli dogs. I was stuffed after eating here, lol.

So what do ya'll think of the romper??? I still have one romper left that I haven't rocked...might wear it tommorrow. ;-)

My DIY Bag ;-)

I got this idea from Love Maegan. :-) She makes the most amazing things: shirts, necklaces, etc. Basically everything! When I saw this, I immediately had to try it! I've made 2 bags since. I made the other one out of a dress so it's a little bigger. Here's a pic of one of them. I made this one from a shirt I never wear.

Here's the link if you want to try it yourself. ;-) There's no sewing or anything involved. This is a perfect d-i-y for that top that you never liked, lol. It literally takes minutes. Thanks Maegan!
